Children

Our love for our children is pure and unconditional. Jesus expressed his love for the children of the world in Matthew 19:14 – “Let the little come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” We share Jesus’ love through LEARNING, SERVICE, WORSHIP, FUN and FELLOWSHIP. Our Children’s Education Ministry grows on a weekly basis and we have a wonderful team behind us to build enriching classes, service projects, festivals and much more in our journey to learn more about our Lord & Savior. Your kids will not want to miss a beat!

WORSHIP
ELEVATE: Shipwrecked: A journey of discovery through the life of Paul.
Trapped on an island they think is deserted, two castaways, Aaron and Jamie, face hunger, weather, something they think is a large bird, and the sound of something they can’t even see. Will they survive? Will they be rescued? Will they ever learn to get along? Find out as we learn some valuable lessons from the life of Paul. K through 5th grade are welcome following the Children’s Moment during both the 8:30 & 11:00am service.

God’s Garden: Dr. Tomorrow’s Robot Repair Shop Jr.: Learn to tell others about Jesus
Join Dr. Tomorrow and his trusty assistants, Newton and Pixie, at Dr. Tomorrow’s Robot Repair Shop. In this series your children will help Pixie and Newton build a robot that, when finished, will tell others about Jesus. Within each lesson your children will hear stories from Jesus’ life and learn how to apply those lessons to their own lives. All children ages 3-5 years are welcome after Children’s Moment in 8:30am and 11:00am service.

We are still in need of volunteers to aid our little ones in their spiritual growth. What greater joy is there than seeing children become aware of God and His love for them?! LEARNING
“GOD’S LOVE IS UNCONDITIONAL” IN SUNDAY SCHOOL
Our children are learning that “God Loves Us, We Show our Love to God and We Learn to Love One Another”

August 1st is Promotion Sunday! We celebrate all of our returning and new kids to Sunday School with a small reception in the Fellowship Hall starting at 10am. Children being promoted to the next Sunday School grade level will be recognized during this time.

G.L.O.W. – God’s Love on Wednesdays - Rocking Out at Baobab Blast!

Our dynamic, high-energy G.L.O.W. program helps kids understand how to build nurturing relationships with God, family and others. Building relationships is not just a theory; it’s a place where meaningful friendships happen. Plus, when kids participate in the hands on mission projects they learn how to help expand God’s community. Join us for this Summer series on Wednesdays in Room 214 from 6:30-7:30pm.

SERVICE (Smiles for Jesus)
Matthew 25:40 – “..I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”

AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS
For the next 80 days the children in Elevate will participate in a variety of small mission projects that help those in need from all 7 continents. Our first stop – Uganda, Africa. Not only did the children learn about the people of this country, they quickly realized how difficult understanding Scripture was in another language. You see, the people of Uganda speak over 40 languages. Churches are well attended, however, the majority of the time the sermon is spoken in another language. In addition, bibles are scarce. We have adopted a poster project to help them learn bible verses which will in turn improve the literacy rate. The posters will be displayed in the Narthex for the first two weeks of August before they are shipped off to our friends in Uganda. Don’t miss them! Accepting spring and summer clothing, sandals and flip flops for children of all ages ALL year round. Just imagine what a few minutes of closet cleanup could bring to those in need

FUN & FELLOWSHIP
BACK TO SCHOOL FESTIVAL
Come out on August 7, 2010 for an evening with 4v4 soccer, our very own “Saturday Session” band and our feature movie, Tooth Fairy. Festivities start at 6pm.

BLAST OFF TO SCHOOL: Lasershow Spectacular at the Rock
Come one and all on August 14th to the Lasershow Spectacular at Stone Mountain as we kick off the school year with fireworks and a wonderful evening of fellowship. Meet at the church at 5:30pm.

BINGO Night
Join us every 3rd Thursday evening at 6:30pm the in the Fellowship Hall. Ages 8-99 welcome! Prizes will be given out for winners. Light refreshments will be served. Next event is August19th!
