A new ministry at
Stockbridge First UMC!
After successful events in June and July, the Crossroads Career Network® ministry is off to a great start! We are excited about the next network event!
When: Monday, August 16th, 7:00-9:00 pm
Where: SUMC Fellowship Hall
Cost: FREE
LynnMarie Earl, President of Earl Marketing, will be the featured speaker. Ms. Earl will present “What You Can Control in Your Job Search.” She will discuss controllable and uncontrollable factors and offer specific direction and ideas for job search. All are welcome to attend!
The evening program includes a time of devotion and prayer, presentation of a broad variety of career-related topics and time for networking with others.
Is this for you?
If you are at or approaching a crossroads in your career, the answer is YES!
You may be starting your career, seeking a job, changing careers or seeking God’s will. You may be mis-employed, unemployed or even super-employed and looking for more. You simply may be wondering what to do about your current job situation.
In all these cases, we invite you to think of yourself as an explorer. Ready for adventure! Looking to the future! That doesn’t mean you will change jobs. But you might want to explore a little bit. You want to look before you actually considering leaping.
Wherever you are in the process, our prayer is that you hear God’s calling and follow Him, having been a good steward of this opportunity to explore directions through a crossroads in your career.
Who are we?
We are an all-volunteer ministry of members or regular attendees of the church who have walked through crossroads in our careers and have come together to help others. Our purpose is:
Helping people at a crossroads in their career to hear and follow God’s calling.
Contact Walt Wake at SUMCcareerhelp@aol.com for additional information or if you are interested in volunteering to help with this career related ministry.
Listen for God’s calling when you come to career crossings:
“Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Jeremiah 6:16
